Why is lax power still there?
This "new" poster going by the name of lax power has already been banned a couple of times before, if I'm not mistaken. He used to go by the handle of "Dixie" something. The "debate" style is the same, nothing but a string of insults and mass generalizations against prochoicers, followed by Christian evangelism and bragging about his little sports team. Every post he's made recently that I've seen focuses on Scarlet, which is stalking in my book and should be stopped immediately. When creepy religious nutters show an obsession with a particular female or females, it needs to be nipped in the bud right away.

I'd also like to know why it's always prolifers that can't accept being banned and always show an unhealthy obsession with one or two people they single out? Okay, Scarlet and CiCi have had their moments of focusing on Mugen and Vernon, but that seemed mutual on both sides, from my viewpoint. Maybe I'm seeing through biased eyes, but I have never seen a prochoicer latch onto one person and stalk them the way prolifers do, and I don't know of any prochoicers that kept trying to get back in once banned from a site.

This settles it; prolifers are fucking crazy...some just more than others.

Formal debate forum on PCT?
Just an idea. This is something we do on another board I post on.

A) Introduction

The debate and discussion of religious, political, philosophical and social issues is an integral part of the Choice debate. Users will have no problem finding that in the regular fora. The regular forams, however, may not be an adequate place if users prefer more controls. Some users may prefer one on one debates without interference from other people. Some may prefer debates to have more structure. Some may prefer to have more time to reflect on an answer to an argument while ensured that his/her intended recipient is still engaged and following the thread. The goal of the Formal Debate fora is to accommodate these preferences.

II Formal Debates is divided into two important fora: Formal Debate Proposals (FDP) and Formal Debates & Discussions (FDD). The following information explains the characteristics, rules, procedures, and expectations of these fora.

B) The Formal Debate Proposals forum

The purpose of the Formal Debate Proposals (FDP) forum is to provide a venue for PCT users to declare a challenge for a formal debate, and when answered, to build and clarify its parameters. FDP is not a forum for the actual debate of the chosen topic. Other PCT users, not involved in declaring or answering a challenge, can post in FDP threads provided that they are only contributing relevant comments, suggestions, or perhaps some mild banter. Declaring a challenge and debate proposal can take the form of "calling out" another IIDB user or declaring an open challenge to anyone who might be interested. Any user is welcome to issue or respond to a challenge in FDP. Although if you are new to the forum, then it is highly recommend that you post in the regular foram for a while to establish your presence and to get a feel for what kind of content you may expect in a debate.

* FDP Tip: *
Not every user bothers to follow what is going on in the FDP forum. When declaring a challenge, you may want to raise attention to it. If you declare an open challenge, then we recommend subtly mentioning it in an existing thread related to the topic of your challenge in the regular fora. When "calling out" someone, we recommend sending a private message, alerting him or her of your challenge.
It should also be noted that no honoraria are permitted. Requiring honoraria for a proposed formal debate by means of a financial transaction would be considered a form of solicitation which is against the IIDB Rules and Registration agreement.

In order for the moderators to approve a formal debate, the debate proposal must address the following ten parameters:

1) The topic of the debate.
2) The participants of the debate, and what positions they will argue.
3) The scope of the debate.
4) The length of the debate, in number of rounds.
5) Whether statements will be made concurrently or in turns, and if the latter, who goes first.
6) The maximum length of each statement.
7) The time limit between statements.
8) The extent to which quotes and references from outside sources will be allowed.
9) The starting date of the debate.
10) Any additional rules or a debate format that debate participants must observe.

"ecook"="MP"?
I was just browsing the debate section on PCT and found a new thread with user named "ecook" who is starting to behave suspiciously like crazy terrorist boy. He's taking personal issue with most of the prochoicers in the thread, and he talked to Hangman as if he's got an old score with him.

I wonder if it's yet another manifestation of He Who Must Not Be Named.

I agree DM.
Scarlett is not afraid to post her thoughts.
I am more drawn to Girl Nation now then PCT because it doesn't have MJ or Vern on it. Mugen has joined but he's like mild chili compared to those two.
I'm burning up my IM screen atm w/ some Naral members over this upholding of the so called partial birth abortion ban.
I recall the signing picture for this when bushy signed it.. a series of white middle aged men all grinning down a line and a white middle aged man with a pen and a caption of "Whats wrong with this picture?"

I'm out of patience.
You know, I've always tried to give prolifers the benefit of the doubt. I've always told myself; "This is the internet, the assholes outnumber the decent types". I don't know if it's because of all of the cancer shit happening at home, the bullshit with MP that forced me to retire Darkmoon, or the recent (but by no means uncommon) Holocaust comparisons that MJ and his/her fellow woman-hater fuckwits have spewed forth, or just a general loathing of life, but I've had it with being reasonable. I'm not a mod anymore, I'm not even Darkmoon anymore. I don't have to pander to these shitheads and I'm going to say exactly what I think.

Scarlet is my idol in this. Fuck the prolifers, fuck diplomacy. I've tried it and gotten bit in the ass for my troubles, and they aren't fucking worth the trouble to me anymore. I'm through compromising, especially when the sick maniacs cheer the ruling that won't even allow women to have a NEEDED, LIFE-SAVING PROCEDURE. If they're going to look at women as expendable breeding fodder, I'm going to treat them like the sick, rapist slave driving fuckers they are.

Goddamned, I'm so pissed. Then again, I have the monthly horribles.

Hmm..
Well I am sorry he got banned over it. I Just wish he'd have left me alone the hundred times I asked him to before I finally lost my temper and flamed the holy hell out of him. You've no idea how many pm's I deleted from him. It is not my nature to bring a problem to others to solve so I responded finally to the continual goading and poking from him.
LIke I said.. had I not been sick with walking pnumonia I probalby would not have lost my lid at him and given him exactly what he asked for.
I am still on the boards but it does seem a rather harsh punishment. Any chance of persuading admin to time limit this? To maybe a month?
I don't dislike Vern but sometimes he does not know when enough is enough.

We are about to have an issue.  Vern has stated his intent to cause problems.

Please make the appropriate apology and promise to never send such a note again, or I will be forced to make an issue out of this.

Go Away Vern. Just go away. That is all I ever asked of you. Leave. Me A-Lone. Dig?
I am sending this to a mod since you choose to make an board matter of a personal off the board email. Leave > Me. A-Lone..

Ok.. Lets not let the banned thread devolve any further. I really do appreciate people coming to my 'defense' I do.  However this will only fuel the fire once back because Vern will be going out of his way to 'prove' he is totally innocent and somehow put that back on me like the warning he was given for moderating. I will get posts from him referring to that or accusing me of doing so.
This will not help.

This will only create more problems for me with him. I do not know why I am his flavor of the month but pointing out to him I am not doing the same thing will only add fuel to the fire and frankly, I love you guys, but I am so sick of Vern that I may not come back at all.

Hey All
Having a lovely time in Philly and I have decided wine shop owners are Gods !! My SO likes red wines.. (ewwweee) and I like Reislings and this marvelous man in the wine shop helps me find a few (2) bottles of wine for under 50$. I am amazed.. I did not want some cheap wine but I can't afford something expensive so he found me a 20 and 25$ bottle for each of us, took the time to tell me what care each needed (now I know what 'put a chill on it' means) and how long to do so for each.. He advised not to chill red wine.

Anyway.. still in Philly till tomarrow. Hope everyone is having a good day and I shall be back home on Thursday night.
